About the event
The Whiteside County Airport, in cooperation with airport-based businesses and organizations, are hosting an Aviation Career Day and Fly-In on Saturday, September 22, 2018 from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM in HANGAR C and portions of the East and South Ramp. The purpose of this Aviation Career Day is to inspire the next generation of aviation industry professionals from air traffic controllers to pilots to mechanics and beyond. There is no fee for registration, or for attending the event. This event is completely FREE! The Aviation Career Day and Fly-In is open to the public. Come on out to the Whiteside County Airport for a day of aviation education and fun!
KIDS CAN EARN WINGS!
The spark for aviation can start at a very young age. Various educational activities will be available for young children, on up to young adults, to learn about different aspects of aviation and flight. Complete these activities and they'll earn thier JUNIOR PILOT wings which will be presented by real airline pilots! The EAA Chapter 410 "SFT" or Small Fry Trainer will also be on hand for kids to sit in and imagine flying!

There is not a specific dress code for this event. Casual attire is fine for attendees. We encourage exhibitors to appear in company uniforms or business casual. Thank you!

FIRST RESPONDER TRAINING
Mercyhealth REACT, in coordination with Air Methods, will be conducting First Responder Training on September 22nd from 9A - 10A.
Training will cover the following:
Safety – Equipment on board the aircraft and procedures for those on board & on ground
Activation Criteria – When To Call
Overview of the Aircraft
Landing Zone Considerations – Selection, Preparation, Marking, Hazards, Communication, Security / Safety
